The son of one of the first Canadians to win his class at Le Mans, Wilkins has become one of the most versatile and successful racers in North America. Beginning in 2001, Wilkins began his winning ways as he rose through the formula car ranks in Canada and North America.

Wilkins made his sportscar debut in 2004 at the Rolex 24 at Daytona driving a Porsche to a podium finish. In 2005 he scored another podium in the GT class at the Rolex. In 2007, Wilkins graduated to the Daytona Prototype division, finishing fifth on debut at Daytona.

2008 was a break out season in Daytona Prototypes, capturing three poles and a pair of wins at two of the most famous venues in North America - Watkins Glen and Montreal. In 2009 and 2010, Wilkins continued to be a threat in DPs and also joined Level 5 for the ALMS enduros. He won on debut at Sebring in LMPC and also finished first at Laguna Seca.

In 2012, KIA Racing selected Wilkins as a factory driver. He scored four podiums and claimed his first win in the Pirelli World Challenge Series. Wilkins also completed the ALMS endurance trifecta by winning again in LMPC, this time with CORE Autosport at Petit Le Mans.

In 2013, Wilkins joined the FXDD Ferrari GT team at Daytona, and went on to claim his third Rolex 24 class podium. He continued as a factory driver for KIA, winning twice. With a strong run of six podiums he narrowly missed out on winning the driver’s championship.

2014 got off to an great start with his biggest career win to date, winning the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the PC class with CORE Autosport. Mark is one of the few drivers in history to now have wins at the biggest US endurance races, Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans.

In 2014, Wilkins combined a third season with the KIA PWC team and a new effort in the CTSCC with Mantella Autosport. In the PWC, Wilkins scored six podiums including two wins. He led the title until the season finale before suffering a heartbreaking mechanical DNF.

In 2015, Wilkins continued his PWC winning record with KIA, scoring victory at Miller Motorsports Park. He also drove for CORE at the Rolex 24, the team denied a second successive win by an incident in the final hour relegating them to the runner up position.

Wilkins scored his second Sebring victory with CORE autosport in 2016 and also led at Daytona and Watkins Glen before the team suffered mechanical issues.

For 2017 Wilkins became a factory Acura driver competing in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Pirelli World Challenge. He drove in the North American Endurance Championship rounds in the new Acura NSX GT3 at Daytona, Sebring, and Road Atlanta (leading the race at Daytona and Petit Le Mans) and contested the entire Sprint X championship in Pirelli World Challenge with victory at Utah Motorsport Campus.
